Two Children Feared Dead, Others Injured In Lagos Building Collapse


A building collapse in the Gafari Balogun area of Ogudu, Lagos State has claimed the lives of two children on Wednesday after a heavy downpour, News9naija reports.

Confirming the incident to Newsmen, Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said the collapse was caused by mudslide after a heavy rainfall.

He said his men swung into action the moment they were informed of the incident which led to the recovery of the bodies of the victims trapped in rumbles from the collapse and rescue of other occupants who were trapped as well.

“The agents were informed that two children, one male and one female, were trapped and immediately commenced a search and rescue operation. Unfortunately, they were found dead and their remains transported to the mortuary.” He said.

News9naija learned that while the body of the victims have been deposited in the mortuary, the injured victims are currently receiving adequate medical attention
